A Message from Our President

It is an honor and privilege to welcome you to Trans-Atlantic Environmental, Inc. I am humbled by what I have learned over the years from my many mentors and friends. Thet have taught me the path to understanding humanity. This pool of selfless individuals includes people like you, who take time to share in our spirit of humanity. Our team thanks you for your support.

What has been the most significant driver of our passion to reach out to poor and developing countries is the concept of "Ubuntu," the spirit of human generosity and concern for the well-being of others as a result of circumstances that may be beyond their control. As I look across Africa and other developing countries, my heart aches for the millions of children who may never see their fifth or tenth birthdays due to the devastating effect of garbage dumps in their communities. It is very difficult to sit back and do nothing as our world is destroyed through the product of our civilization.

As the writer Stanlake Samkange said, "If one is faced with a decisive choice between wealth and preservation of the life of another human being, then one should opt for the preservation of life." This statement pulled at my mind and became the reason why our program was formed. I also continue to be inspired by the following passage from Isaiah 58: 10-12:

Work hard to feed hungry people.
Satisfy the needs of those who are crushed.
Then my blessing will light up your darkness.
And the night of your suffering will become as bright as the noonday sun.
I will always guide you.
I will satisfy your needs in a land that is baked by the sun.
I will make you stronger.
You will be like a garden that has plenty of water.
You will be like a spring whose water never runs dry.
Your people will rebuild the cities that were destroyed long ago.
And you will build again on the old foundations.
You will be called The One Who Repairs Broken Walls.
You will be called The One Who Makes City Streets like New Again.

Respectfully,

Dr. Daniel Kwame Acquaah
